What We Do

OBey YouthCare in Brenu Akiyinim, Ghana raises funds for the Educational Endowment Fund for the orphaned and needy youth of the village each year. The funds that we raise for this initiative are used to purchase uniforms, school supplies, and food for the school year. OYC staff in Brenu also facilitates after school classes for approximately 50 orphans and needy youth. The after school program consists of homework tutoring, drum class, life skills and vocational training.

OYC has partnered up with the Elmina Hospital where the primary doctor, Dr. Cudjoe has a medical team to conduct scheduled exams and treatment sessions based on needs of the orphaned and needy youth. OYC conducts annual fundraising campaigns to fund the home improvements of the existing homes of the orphans in Brenu. Needs assessments are conducted by OYC staff of the existing homes and funds are used to meet these needs to correct unhealthy and unsafe conditions in the homes.

OYC hosts mission and service groups who wish to volunteer, donate supplies and support our initiatives to Brenu Akiyinim, Ghana.
